PROJECT OVERVIEW

 The practice were approached by Equip to help them update, refresh and expand their existing premises in Derbyshire to create a vibrant and attractive HQ. Their current building has two storey office accommodation at the front with a large open plan warehouse at the back. The company wanted to create more office accommodation, a larger canteen to accommodate the increase in staff and overhaul the existing finishes of the interior. The client was keen on an industrial look so the practice proposed taking down the existing suspended ceilings throughout the building and exposing the existing concrete slab and steel frame. All heating and ventilation ducts would be left exposed. A new steel framed mezzanine was formed at the back of the building housing meetings rooms and individual offices. Reclaimed brick slips on the walls, reclaimed timber flooring and exposed steel and concrete along with bright modern pieces of furniture help to create the wow factor which the client is after.
