PROJECT OVERVIEW

Demolition of a dwelling and erection of 7 apartments on a plot off North Avenue in Darley Abbey on the outskirts of Derby.

The original 1930's bungalow was on an extensive corner plot and in poor state of repair. The apartment building comprises five two bed and two one bed apartments over 3 floors. The building utilises the eaves space so from the exterior appears 2.5 storeys.

The new building has two wings arranged at 45 degrees to one another with a central access area containing a lift and stairwell linking the two. The building is a mixture of red brick and render to complement the surrounding properties.

There were no traffic or access issues however a new access was constructed to improve visibility. The apartments have parking for one vehicle plus visitor and turning space. There is also a secluded communal courtyard garden.
