PROJECT OVERVIEW
Front and rear extension to existing commercial unit to provide office space, additional auction room space, car parking and a secure delivery and collection area for Hansons Auctioneers & Valuers, head office in Etwall, Derbyshire.
The proposed design utilities vertical aluminium cladding in light and dark grey to provide a complimentary contrast to the existing facade. Contemporary detailing will be added to the existing south facade; framing the existing windows in aluminium cladding and contemporary glazing.
The front extension comprises large, central glazed gable with full height glazing; maximising natural light and allowing for passive solar gain in the winter months and reducing the amount/usage of artificial lighting.
The site currently has mature hedgerows, trees and shrubs, further feature planting will be introduced to enhance the new extension, focusing mainly on improved landscaping to the front and south elevations.
The scheme has been designed with sustainability and the environment in mind; the building will be highly insulated and air-tightness balanced with natural ventilation. It will include a rain-water re-use scheme and air-source heating.
The proposed development will provide the business with the space it requires to continue to expand, offer clients a better standard of service plus additional and improved office space for staff.
