PROJECT OVERVIEW
The existing building comprises a five storey 1960’s concrete framed office building fronting Duckworth Square, a neglected area of Derby City Centre which is in desperate need of regeneration. The brief was to breathe new life into the building, giving it an active façade at ground level and welcoming new businesses into a newly refurbished business center for a mixture of uses. Under tight constraints the ground floor reception area was refurbished and accessibility improved.
The street level frontage is clad in bespoke natural stone panels which hides the existing dull brickwork and gives a bright and robust finish at street level with a dynamic perforated steel clad façade above in a woodland pattern. The panels are lit from behind with state of the art LED lighting which depicts shimmering trees at night.
