Planning Submitted at Norton Motorcycles
Planning Permission submitted for Norton Motorcycles (UK) Ltd
Due to the ongoing expansion of Norton Motorcycles (UK) Ltd owing to the demand for their bikes from both the UK market and overseas, we have been working closely with Norton to design an extension to their existing Centre of Excellence building located adjacent their Donington Hall factory. The new building provides an additional 810m2 of floor space complimenting the existing building and has recently been submitted to North-West Leicestershire District Council for planning permission.
The existing Centre of Excellence is expected to be at full capacity in the coming months and will not offer sufficient space to cope with demand. This is mainly due to the unprecedented success of the new V4 1200cc Norton, which has sold out before any bike has been delivered with another new model, the 650cc twin launching this November. The new building is required to meet these ongoing growth demands and allow Norton to continue with the job growth, training and skills that are currently being delivered. Norton anticipate up to 50/60 new jobs to come directly from the new building, this coupled with over 100 apprentices receiving training and ‘up skills’ over the next 3 year period alone.
