Modern Interior Refurb of Offices

Matthew Montague Architects were commissioned by Castlefield Midlands Ltd to design and manage a complete refurbishment of a commercial office building on Wetmore Road in Burton upon Trent. The building was built in the late 1980’s and required a complete interior overhaul to update it and make it desirable for a new tenant.

As the premises were unoccupied at the time the refurbishment began, the design was not tailored to a specific brand or business. The design needed to be functional, practical and appeal to a range of businesses whilst having a fresh, modern feel to it.

The nine month, £820k project included combining a vacant ground floor unit with a neighbouring existing business. Opening the space up internally, removing partition walls and using glazed screens to create different areas and spaces. Contemporary, new kitchen facilities were installed; the toilets were refurbished to a high standard.

The main staircase was renovated to create a wow factor and adds a very attractive feature of the building. The end result is a modern, open plan, office environment that can be offered to the market with vacant possession.
