3D Aerial Perspective View of Derby City Centre. We produced this 3D model for Marketing Derby primarily for The Derby Property Summit 2019. The 3D model is a view of Derby city looking north from south of the ring road. The model shows sites currently under construction, identified by the green buildings, buildings/developments in the immediate pipeline in amber and finally, the buildings in red are the sites identified for future developments. The event was held in Derby’s stunning Roundhouse and chaired by business journalist Declan Curry.













































Seeing a 3D model of the Derby cityscape reminded me of how rewarding it can be to bring digital creations into the physical world. I first got into 3D printing through architectural models, and it quickly became a way to explore details I’d never notice in photos or drawings. Platforms like Gambody 3d printing marketplace make that process accessible by providing tested STL files that are ready for different printers, whether SLA or FFF. What I found helpful is the range of designs, from vehicles to characters, all with clear printing instructions that reduce trial and error.
