Meet the Team, Introducing Tom Halliday.

Tom completed A Levels in Design, Chemistry and Physics and went on to obtain a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment before studying Architectural Technology at Derby University. Tom was awarded the Pro Vice Chancellors award for achievement in 2019/2020. He has completed his second year and joins Matthew Montague Architects for his placement year.

Tom has family connections within the construction industry and has a deep routed passion for building design and construction. He is keen to gain experience within the practice within a wide variety of industries including commercial, residential and education.

Tom has a specific interest in contemporary design and sustainability and is keen to work on projects considering environmental, social and economic sustainability of the built environment from design to construction. Taking a holistic view of all elements from Passivhaus to managing the impact of site activity.

Tom has a keen interest in cars, he plays tennis at Duffield Tennis club and likes a round of golf in his spare time. He has embraced being part of the team and has already successfully abseiled down Derby Cathedral with practice colleagues to raise funds for Rainbows Hospice.
